ApplyAbout the Role
As a Corporate Finance Consultant, you will work on value-creating client engagements as well as our own investments: building financial models, conducting due diligence, preparing decision-support materials and participating in transaction execution - while also contributing to the professional development of the analyst team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting controlling projects - design and implementation of new financial controlling systems together with Mercurio’s controlling experts.
- Supporting M&A advisory projects - building valuation models, conducting financial and commercial due diligence, preparing transaction materials and providing hands-on support throughout negotiations.
- Supporting structured financing projects - analysis of general ledger data, capital structure optimisation modelling, and ongoing support in bank financing discussions
- Preparing strategic decision-support materials - market and competitor analysis, development and modelling of growth opportunities, and close collaboration with clients
- Supporting our own equity investments - identification and analysis of potential acquisition targets, deal support, portfolio company development projects
- Business development – supporting the Partners in originating new business, preparing proposals, and participating in client meetings
- Knowledge sharing and coaching - supporting the professional development of the analyst team.
Who We Are Looking For
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business.
- Solid corporate finance and accounting knowledge, with strong methodological foundations.
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant role (transaction advisory, financial controlling, structured finance, financial analysis or business valuation).
- Strong financial modelling skills - including the ability to teach modelling, review models and ensure the quality of others’ work.
- Confident use of PowerPoint, Excel and other analytical tools.
- Leadership mindset and a strong commitment to supporting the development of junior colleagues.
- Project-management experience, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Nice to have
- Consulting experience.
- Advanced AI skills - including AI agent development and project-team collaboration on AI platforms.
- Practical knowledge of controlling systems (e.g. Power BI, ERP systems).
- Industry or functional expertise (e.g. renewable energy, manufacturing, real estate financing).
